Why am I dying in PoE2?
Run a survival-focused build check when deaths are blocking progress and you need to know what defensive fix comes first.
Deaths can come from uncapped resistance, low effective hit pool, missing recovery, bad movement, or a build that traded too much survival for damage.
Players entering maps, pushing harder content, or trying to understand one-shot deaths.
Example build check report
A real exiles.build report showing build tier, weak pillars, practical fix rows, and a shareable summary.
How to use it
The page is built around a short build-help flow: import the character, name the pain, then act on the first fixes before over-optimizing.
- 1
Pick survival as the goal
This biases the report toward defensive blockers and avoids ranking every damage upgrade above survivability.
- 2
Check defensive basics
Resistance gaps, life or energy shield, max-hit signals, recovery, and movement often explain deaths.
- 3
Fix one blocker at a time
After changing the first defensive slot or setup, rerun the report before buying the next upgrade.
When this helps
Use the Improve flow when the question is about a current character and a practical next action.
What exiles.build checks
The report starts from concrete build data and keeps the short answer separate from deeper inspection.
Gear
Slot coverage, bases, requirements, defenses, damage stats, and trade-search direction when the slot is specific enough.
Skills and supports
Main skill setup, support links, gem levels, and support alternatives that can change damage, clear, sustain, or utility.
Passives and stats
Notables, keystones, stat pillars, and calculation-backed deltas where the imported build can be evaluated.
FAQ
Short answers for the search intent behind this page.
Will it tell every build to stack armour?
No. Survival fixes should respect the build's defensive style, such as evasion, energy shield, armour, block, recovery, or hybrid setups.
Can a damage build still need survival first?
Yes. If deaths stop progression, the best upgrade can be a defensive slot even when DPS looks tempting.
Does this replace learning map mechanics?
No. The report checks character issues. It cannot remove every danger from map modifiers, boss mechanics, or gameplay mistakes.
