PoE2 upgrade priority in plain order

Use upgrade priority when you need a short ordered plan instead of a pile of possible item changes.

The report should start with triage: first fix the blocker, then inspect the next slot, then rerun after a meaningful change.

Intent
The player wants ordered next steps and does not want to manually weight every item slot.

Intermediate players who already know the build direction but need action order.

What ordered priority should include
1The first issue to fix before optional upgrades
2The second and third practical changes to inspect
3Budget or effort labels when the system has enough context
4A reason the order is not just a generic slot checklist

Example build check report

A real exiles.build report showing build tier, weak pillars, practical fix rows, and a shareable summary.

Current workflow: paste a Path of Building 2 export, pick the goal that matches the problem, then read the first fixes before drilling into item details.

How to use it

The page is built around a short build-help flow: import the character, name the pain, then act on the first fixes before over-optimizing.

  1. 1

Read only the first three fixes

The first screen should reduce decisions, not create ten more competing tasks.

  2. 2

    Open the relevant slot detail

After the report ranks the issue, drill into the item, support gem, or passive area.

  3. 3

    Recheck after each meaningful change

A good upgrade changes the next best action. Rerunning is part of the loop.

When this helps

Use the Improve flow when the question is about a current character and a practical next action.

You want to know the order before spending currency.
You need a report that says what to do first, not just what is different.
You are deciding between multiple plausible upgrades.

What exiles.build checks

The report starts from concrete build data and keeps the short answer separate from deeper inspection.

Gear

Slot coverage, bases, requirements, defenses, damage stats, and trade-search direction when the slot is specific enough.

Skills and supports

Main skill setup, support links, gem levels, and support alternatives that can change damage, clear, sustain, or utility.

Passives and stats

Notables, keystones, stat pillars, and calculation-backed deltas where the imported build can be evaluated.

FAQ

Short answers for the search intent behind this page.

Is upgrade priority the same for every build?

No. The order should depend on the build, current gear, goal, and whether damage or survival is blocking progression.

Can an upgrade lower one stat but still be right?

Sometimes. A defensive fix can lower DPS, and a damage fix can lower survivability. The report should show tradeoffs when available.

What if the first recommendation looks wrong?

Use the report evidence and rerun after changes. Early product feedback should also flag bad recommendations so the rules can be tightened.
